📚 Understanding Peak Sun Hours
Peak sun hours (PSH) is not the same as daylight hours. It represents the equivalent number of hours when solar irradiance averages 1000 W/m².
3-4 hours: Northern regions, heavy cloud cover
5-6 hours: Most US locations
7-8 hours: Southwest US, desert regions
⚙️ System Efficiency Factors
Actual output is reduced by several factors:
85-90%: Temperature losses (panels lose efficiency when hot)
90-95%: Inverter efficiency
95-98%: Wiring and connection losses
90-95%: Soiling and shading losses
